Before becoming a mentor
Once you’ve completed your own FUSIC accreditation, mentoring is the next step. These are the practical skills you’ll need before signing off other learners’ scans.
Skills you’ll need
Writing clinical notes
How to write a FUSIC scan report that meets ICS standards — what to include, how to phrase findings, and common pitfalls.
Uploading to the server
How to push scans from each ultrasound machine to the shared server so they can be reviewed and signed off.
Application process
To register as a FUSIC mentor with the ICS, you’ll need to demonstrate accreditation in your module(s), submit your training record, and complete the mentor declaration via the ICS portal.
